Fire crews called to blaze in Exmouth

Fire crews were called to Exmouth this afternoon after reports of smoke coming from a flat.

Three appliances from Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Topsham attended the fire at Rapunszels Hair Salon in Albion Street at 12.19pm.

Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in the kitchen above the hair saloon. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet and a thermal imaging camera were used.

One cat was rescued by fire service personnel.

The fire involving materials that had been left on the hob in the kitchen, and minor damage was caused to the property.
