Two awards for top NFU performer Shirley
NFU group secretary Shirley Smith has been recognised twice for her tireless work on behalf of the organisation’s members.
At the recent Devon annual open meeting Shirley, who works in Newton Abbot, was presented with the Salter Shield for her work on behalf of the county’s farmers.
Then at a national awards dinner held last night (Thursday 6th Dec) she was honoured again with a ‘high achiever’ award which is given in recognition of outstanding achievement and excellence in membership retention and recruitment.
“I did feel like we’d had a good year but I certainly didn’t expect to win. It certainly makes you want to come back here again,” said Shirley.
“It’s always difficult managing our time and it’s very much a team effort. Everyone in the office contributed to winning this award.”
