The Devon and Exeter region of The Lady Taverners held a Christmas lunch at Abode in Exeter on Tuesday 10th December.

The Lady Taverners believe that recreational activities and sport are imperative to helping young people fulfil their potential. Their focus is raising funds for specially adapted minibuses, sports wheelchairs, multi-sensory and soft play equipment and supporting girls' cricket.

Their recent lunch helped to raise £1,500 for projects to enable disadvantaged and disabled youngsters to have greater access to sport and outdoor activities.

The Lady Taverners managed to raise these fantastic funds by auctioning off some unique items such as a painting of tea on the Catherdral Green, a christmas hamper and a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

The Lady Taverners were also helped by local fragrance company, di palomo, who presented goodie bags at the event. Raffle prizes were also kindly donated by Wizard Jeans, Cath Collins Perfumes , Grange Hotels and Hoopers of Torquay.

Those who attended the event also got to hear from some inspirational guests such as Olympic athlete and Lady Taverner, Jo Pavey; the Chief Executive of the Lord’s Taverners, Paul Robin, and Carol Robinson, the Chair of Regions and National Chairman Elect of The Lady Taverners. The guest of honour was 1960’s pop singer, actor and charity fundraiser, Jess Conrad OBE.
