Exeter School has announced to parents plans for a new pool and changing facilities thanks to an anonymous donation.

A donor, who wishes to remain unnamed, has generously donated the funds to build a new 25-metre, covered, competition-standard, swimming pool.

The school governors have agreed to match the funding to enable much-needed improvements to the boys’ changing room and locker facilities and to create an exciting list of improvements to spectator and participants’ facilities in the Sports Hall.

River Cottage Chefs’ School are celebrating with the first of their apprentice chef graduates after completing an intensive 12-month programme.

The 11 ecstatic graduates were the first of 74 apprentices currently studying on the Young Chef Apprentice Scheme – a professional and personal journey that aims to equip young learners with the skills they need to enter the catering industry. Developer doubles sharers' accommodation

Exeter’s largest and most exclusive luxury student accommodation development, Dean Clarke Lofts, is doubling the amount of sharers’ accommodation available in a bid to meet demand from students looking to live in the lofts during the 2014-15 academic year.

Students from University of Exeter are taking part in a day of action today in order to protest against controversial cuts they believe could “disproportionally impact” students with disabilities. Golf in the South West has received a boost this month as Exeter golfers past and present celebrated the official opening of the Vic Ambler Golf Centre on 15 May.

MORE than 175 apprenticeships are waiting to be snapped up by youngsters looking to start work after their exams this summer, it has been revealed.

School-leavers in Devon and Cornwall are being urged to avoid the post-exam rush and think now about securing an apprenticeship in their chosen career, and not wait until September.
