Exeter's Josh Ellis has been named the winner of the VQ Learner of the Year Award 2015 for England, in recognition of his outstanding achievement following a vocational qualification in Plumbing at Exeter College.

Josh, 21, won the gold medal at the World Skills competition, with his work deemed ‘near perfect’ by the judges.

The Guardian UK University League Tables 2016 are just out and Exeter University has been ranked at number nine, having risen three places since last year when it was ranked at Number 12 in the UK (league table here ). The Maynard School choir is one of 20 schools in England and Wales to have been selected to be part of the ceremonies that will officially welcome the teams to Rugby World Cup 2015.

The ceremonies will also include the formal presentation of official Tournament caps and Rugby World Cup 2015 participation medals.
