Slade sticks to Devon roots with new contract

Exeter Chiefs and England centre Henry Slade has committed his future to staying in Devon, signing a new contract with the club.

The 74-cap England international this season celebrated scoring his 1,000th Chiefs point against Gloucester Rugby in round five of the Gallagher PREM. A Chief since 2011, Slade has racked up 259 appearances in all competitions.

Princesshay presents live screenings of Wimbledon alongside three family films

Princesshay is bringing Wimbledon to Exeter with live outdoor screenings of matches on a giant screen. The screen will be in Princesshay Square for the duration of the legendary two-week tournament (Monday 3rd July – Sunday 16th July 2023).

Tennis fans will be able sit and watch the prime court matches free of charge on picnic benches and deckchairs within Princesshay Green in the main square.

Exeter-born Dom Bess has missed out on selection for the first two Test matches of the Ashes series between England and Australia. The 25-year-old former Somerset player was one of several names mentioned as a potential replacement for the injured Jack Leach.

Golfers at the Exeter Golf and Country Club have teed off a year of fundraising for the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

Men’s and ladies’ 2023-24 golf captains Geoff Fidler and Vicki Rogers have chosen the RD&E Charity as their charity of the year and hope to raise £20,000 to support the hospital’s oncology department.
