Exeter Racecourse is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) for ELF Raceday, taking place on Friday 5th December 2025.

Through this collaboration, ELF and Exeter Racecourse will launch a special gifting programme aimed at bringing joy to children and families supported by the charity during the Festive season.

Sturgess signs new Chiefs deal

Brett Sturgess has spoken of his delight after agreeing terms on a new deal that will take him into a ninth season with the Exeter Chiefs.

Having joined back in 2007 from Irish province Connacht, the 31-year-old forward is the latest member of Rob Baxter’s current squad to extend his stay at Sandy Park.

A key figure in the club’s rise out of the Championship and into the Aviva Premiership, Sturgess – who has agreed a new one-year deal – has to date played 166 games for the Devon club, scoring ten tries in the process.

Bicton Arena stages spectacular first international competition

Devon’s first ever international horse trials drew plaudits from spectators and competitors alike following three days of intense competition which took place at Bicton Arena in East Devon at the weekend.

Organiser Helen West, who also manages the arena, had added an international class to Bicton’s schedule to provide Westcountry-based riders with the opportunity to ride at that level. She also wanted to make it a spectacle for visitors and used the main showjumping arena, which has its own natural amphitheatre, to position several new cross country fences.

Exeter Chiefs have been forced to make a late change to their squad for today's Aviva Premiership clash with Wasps at the Ricoh Arena (2pm).

Replacement prop Alex Brown has failed a late fitness test, so Brett Sturgess is brought into the squad to replacement him.
