Exeter Racecourse launches Community Raceday and calls for Devon’s community heroes

Exeter Racecourse has launched a brand-new Community Raceday and is inviting people across Devon to nominate a community hero who deserves recognition.

Community Raceday takes place on Friday, February 20, during half term, and coincides with Devon Day at the racecourse. The initiative celebrates the people who make a real difference in their communities – from volunteers and carers to sports coaches, fundraisers and quiet grafters who go above and beyond.

Every nominee will receive a free ticket to Exeter Racecourse, and one overall winner will be treated to a Family...

Golfers invited to aim for national glory

Golfers from across the South West will make their way to Staddon Heights Golf Club in Plymouth early next month in their quest to qualify for the final of a national competition.

The annual Licensed Trade Charity Golf Tournament sees teams of four golfers taking each other on in a series of regional qualifiers. The Devon heat, taking place on Friday 4th September, allows golfers of any standard to play at one of the South West’s premier golf courses and puts them within 18 holes of representing the county at the Sky-sponsored Grand Final in North Berwick in October.

Harley and Brown earn City win at Victoria Road

Goals from Ryan Harley and Troy Brown earned Exeter City all three points at Victoria Road.

Slade shines on England debut

Exeter Chiefs back Henry Slade played a key role in England's victory over France at Twickenham on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old impressed on his debut with former team coach Sir Clive Woodward descibing him as "really looking the part".

Slade was involved in two of the England tries and looked comfortable on his first outing.

England got their Rugby World Cup preparations off to a successful start after beating France 19 - 14.

Exeter City face a long journey in their League Cup second round game after being drawn against Premiership side Sunderland.

After overcoming League One side Swindon Town, the Grecians have landed a top tie with a potential pay day to match.

Michele Campagnaro says he cannot wait to pull on an Exeter Chiefs jersey after sealing a move to the Aviva Premiership club from Italian Pro12 outfit Benetton Treviso.

The Devon club confirmed back in February that the gifted Italian international would be joining them on a two-year deal following the culmination of this autumn’s Rugby World Cup.

Exeter Wheelers feature in road safety video

The Exeter based cycling club Exeter Wheelers played an integral part in the filming of the SPACE; a road safety video created by Chris Boardman and BikeBiz editor Carlton Reid.

The video titled SPACE has now gone viral online with over 45,000 views in less than 24 hours aims to educate drivers on how much room a cyclist or group of riders need when overtaking them.
