The Emma Lavelle-trained Silver Thorn won the feature Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase, making virtually all the running to score by two lengths from co-favourite El Granjero at Exeter yesterday, where the sun shone on a beautiful day at Haldon Hill.

A first-ever play-off place assured in the Aviva Premiership, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter is now setting new targets for his side as a gripping top flight season heads into the final straight.

A LATE PENALTY from Jayden Stockley salvaged Exeter City a point in the final home game of the 2015/16 Sky Bet League 2 season.

In a game that bore the hallmarks of an end of season encounter, Kevin Ellison looked to have secured all three points for the visitors in the eighty-sixth minute. Special Olympics Badmintonathon

On Sunday 22 May, Harry Arksey an England Badminton Player will be joining the Exeter and District Special Olympics team for a charity fundraiser.

The badminton fun-day is packed with badminton games, coaching sessions and mini challenges. We also have eight volunteers who are taking on the challenge to play 12 hours of badminton straight.

The Badmintonathon is being hosted in the Sports Hall at Exeter University from 8am until 4pm; everyone is welcome!

Molly Batchelor, a student at Exeter’s Maynard School, and her crew returned from last weekend’s Junior Inter Regional Rowing Regatta in Nottingham on the crest of a wave having been placed 5th nationally.

“I’m really pleased with this result as the only ones that beat us were four groups of professionals who are so high up in the leagues that they are banned from some regattas altogether! So it was excellent to get into the top six and we posted some really good times as well.”

Molly’s quad team is made up of three other girls all of whom represent the Exeter Rowing Club....

Point-to-point champion crowned at Exeter’s finale

The curtain comes down on Exeter’s season next Tuesday when the winner of the prestigious intermediate point-to-point final will be crowned.

Eight qualifying races took place across the Devon and Cornwall point-to-point area and all 45 horses horses that came under starters’ orders are qualified to participate in Tuesday’s grand finale

Pellow's joy as Braves advance into final

Ricky Pellow said he could not have asked for anything more from his Exeter Braves side as they powered their way into this season’s Aviva Premiership A League final.

In a rampant display at Sandy Park, the Braves ran in eight tries to swot aside the attentions of visiting Newcastle Falcons 48-15.

Exeter Chiefs v Wasps sold out

Exeter Chiefs officials can this morning confirm that Sunday’s Aviva Premiership encounter with Wasps at Sandy Park (1pm) is now officially sold out.

The ticket office were hopeful that there may have been a number of tickets returned by Wasps for the much-anticipated clash, but this has not been the case and there will be no sales from this point onwards.

Sunday’s fixture will be the fifth time this season that the Chiefs have sold out a top flight game.

Those who have been unable to obtain tickets for the game should note that the game is to be screened live on BT...

Grecians' play-off hopes end at Memorial Stadium

GOALS from Billy Bodin, Lee Brown and Sky Bet League 2 top-scorer Matty Taylor consigned Exeter City to a second defeat of the week at the Memorial Stadium, ending the Grecians' hopes of a play-off finish.

City had an uphill battle in the second period after conceding goals at either end of the first half, but they came out flying after the interval with Jake Taylor scoring within seconds of the restart. Honiton Gymnastics Club took 51 gymnasts to Tunbridge Wells in Kent for the Next Dimension Gymnastics Academy (NDGA) Invitational last weekend, returning with five gold medals, seven silvers and four bronzes.
