Exeter awaits era-defining tournament as new Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy unveiled and further tickets released

With just 100 days to go until Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off in Sunderland, World Rugby has today unveiled a bold new trophy – a symbol of the game’s unstoppable global rise – and announced the release of additional tickets for what promises to be a generational moment for the sport.

The trophy will embark on a trip to Exeter on 20 May at Exeter Cathedral, as part of a nationwide tour of England.

Sarah Massey, Managing Director of the Rugby World Cup 2025, and several rugby stars will be in attendance to showcase the new trophy.

James Short try-scoring hot streak shows no sign of abaiting as he added two more to his tally as Exeter Chiefs powered to victory over Newcastle Falcons at Sandy Park.

Roxy Spiller, who trains at Honiton Tae Kwon Do club won gold at the recent TAGB South West Championships.

Roxy’s success was in the ‘Patterns’ category where she performed moves from a set pattern of different techniques including kicks and strikes.

Over 300 competitors from all over the South West attended the tournament in Weston Super Mare. Exeter Junior School's U11A football team was delighted to welcome Exeter City Football Club Football in the Community Coach Pete Eveleigh.

The Premier League Kicks Coordinator gave a masterclass to the Year 6 pupils as preparation for the Regional Kids' Cup Football Finals which take place on Monday 27 February at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers FC.

Third time lucky for Exeter School equestrians

Exeter School equestrians are celebrating a second team entry into the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Finals at Hickstead plus an individual pupil qualified for the prestigious Arena Eventing Competition.

Megan Bailey, Alice Bailey, Olivia Eden and Izzy Kekwick competed in the 80/85cm class at Bicton on 11 February coming second out of 60 individual competitors. This qualifies them for the Finals in May.

Best Ever Devon Championships for Exeter City Swimming Club

Exeter City Swimming Club enjoyed their best ever county champs this year, with a record number of swimmers qualifying.

The Devon County Swimming Championships take place at the Plymouth Lifecentre on three consecutive weekends at the end of January and swimmers from all over Devon have to achieve stringent qualifying times throughout the preceeding year to be able to take part.

This years’ championships saw 85 Exeter swimmers qualify, achieving eight super champions, 45 Super Final places, 42 age group gold medals, 25 silver and 30 bronze as well as another 129 county age...

Exeter City have signed striker Ryan Swan on a deal until the end of the season. The former UCD (University of College Dublin) forward put pen to paper on a contract at St James Park having impressed on a trial at the club in November.
