Exeter Chiefs chairman says new American owners will bring ‘razzmatazz’ to rugby union

Exeter Chiefs chairman Tony Rowe believes that the club’s impending takeover by an American consortium could transform the Gallagher Premiership.

The billionaire owners of English Premier League club Bournemouth have agreed a deal for the club, subject to the membership’s approval at an extraordinary general meeting on May 7.

If the deal is ratified, Exeter Chiefs will become the latest Premiership team alongside Newcastle and Bath to secure major new investment.

Exeter Deaf Academy wins National Deaf Schools Sports Day

Exeter Deaf Academy have won a nation-wide track and field competition for Deaf schools.

The annual National Deaf Schools Track and Field Sports Day took place on Wednesday 5 July at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Organised by local Deaf school Heathlands, the competition saw 7 schools from across the country come together to compete in a variety of track and field events.

The group of 12 students and 7 members of staff had a long day, setting off from Exeter at 6am to reach the venue.

Rob Baxter insists there is a “burning desire” amongst the Exeter Chiefs coaching staff to take the Devon club onto even greater things in the future, after he and his three trusty lieutenants - Ali Hepher, Rob Hunter and Ricky Pellow - today all agreed new three-year deals with the Aviva Premiership champions.

Well done to Exeter School alumnus Ben Green and Lower Sixth Former Tom Lammonby for their selection into the England U19 test and one-day squads this summer.

Exeter City will proudly wear the current home and away shirts for the 2017/18 season, with a new third kit to be added.
