Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

A group of Exeter students aged 17-19 from the Exeter City Football In The Community BTEC Sport programme travelled a total of 286 miles to participate in the ever growing, EFL Futsal National finals.

Expectations were high as Exeter teams had previously performed well with the Express & Echo awarding their prestigious “Team of the Year “accolade for winning the competition last year.

Former Crystal Palace defender Luke Croll has joined Exeter City on a permanent deal.

Luke, who can play at left-back or centre-half, spent the majority of last season on loan at St James Park where he played 20 games for the club helping them to reach the League Two play-off final.

With Sky Bet League 2’s season about to kick-off again, Exeter City are preparing themselves for their first game of the season. They are set to play against Cambridge United at home in St James Park Stadium on August 5th.

The glorious parklands of Bicton Arena come under the spotlight during the second weekend of July (8-9) when its second British Eventing-affiliated horse trials take place.

Classes ranging from BE80T to open novice will be staged, attracting both grass roots riders and those riding horses that are moving up through the levels.

Measures have been implemented to ease the ground including intensive sward maintenance using the arena’s Terra Spike Verti-Drain, which has resulted in vigorous growth and deep rooting thereby allow the dense grass to have a cushion effect.

The countdown to the eleventh annual Dartmoor Classic Sportive, which takes place on Sunday 02 July, is on, and organisers are looking forward to yet another successful event.

Exmouth kitesurfer, Tom Bridge (16) took the top spot at the British Kitesurfing Championships on Hayling Island last weekend, 10th and 11th June.

The event, which took place during the famous Virgin Kitesurfing Armada festival, saw some of the UK's top kitesurfers take to the water in the grueling two day long competition.
