Open Water Swimming Coach and Aquaphobia Coach Honoured with National Ambassador Role

Debbie Fish from Swim Like A Fish, who has recently moved near to Sidmouth has been honoured by the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA), a national governing body for swimming, by being appointed a Brand Ambassador in recognition of her commitment and service to the aquatics industry.

STA is also an international award-winning charity dedicated to the preservation of human life through the teaching of swimming, lifesaving and survival techniques, and in this new voluntary ambassador role, Debbie will be working to support these objectives. She will use her experience and knowledge to offer assistance to the organisation’s new and existing 12,000 + members and swim school partners.

Debbie is one of 52 Brand Ambassadors appointed by STA from hundreds of applications, received.  

She said: “I’m very proud to be appointed an Ambassador for my national governing body and to be in a position to help make a difference.  As ambassadors we have been given the opportunity, and the communications channel, to feedback the information we receive at a local level from the aquatic community, and relay this right through to the top of the STA.  

This line of communication and support network is all the more important at this critical time too with COVID-19, as the leisure market has been one of the hardest to be hit by the pandemic.”

Based near Sidmouth, Debbie is an STA level 2 open water swimming coach and an advanced aquaphobia coach, specialising in coaching all levels of ability from nervous and fearful clients to leisurely swimmers, occasional dippers and athletes of all ages.
