New track – record numbers of athletes

Record numbers of entries have been received for this Sunday’s England Athletics South West Championship and Inter Counties 2014.

Organised by South West Athletics Academy, this is the largest athletics championship in the south west.

Top athletes from all across the region will be congregating at the newly refurbished Exeter Arena this Sunday 17th August for a day of tough competition on both track and field.

The track at Exeter Arena has been closed for refurbishment for seven months and it’s opening has been awaited with great anticipation by local athletics clubs and groups. Now that the fantastic facilities are ready and the athletes are trained, prepared and ready to compete, all looks set for an outstanding day of sport.

If you have been inspired by the Commonwealth Games, come and watch south west athletes in action and spot athletes hoping for GB or national selection in the future.
