Exeter Racecourse’s seven race card today is a feast for racing enthusiasts with some great racing in prospect.

The Follow188Bet On Twitter Novices’ Hurdle kicks off proceedings and King Calvin and Master Tommytucker are likely to head the betting. The former, trained by Jack Barber, was a ready winner of a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last month, staying on well over the two miles three furlongs trip to beat the odds on favourite Secret Investor.

Master Tommytucker, trained by Paul Nicholls, made a winning debut at the course in February, readily taking a two miles two furlongs novices’ hurdle. Of the others, the Richard Mitford-Slade-trained and bred mare Applesolutely is thoroughly consistent and deserves to get her head in front again.

The  Racing Tickets Giveaways at 188Bet Handicap Hurdle is a tough puzzle to solve with plenty in with chances but the nod goes to the Jeremy Scott-trained Garrane who is bidding for a three-timer having won at Taunton and Chepstow last month. He’s gone up 16lbs since his initial success  but he’s won readily each time and there might be more to come. The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Costante Via is also interesting. She has her first run in a handicap and a step up in trip might well get her the win.

Stayers come to the fore in the three miles six furlongs Prydis Handicap Chase with Wizards Bridge the obvious selection on the back of two recent wins. However, he fought hard for success both times and with Venetia Williams in good enough form, Royal Paladium might well be worth a second look.

Nicholls trains the obvious selection in the Daily Racing Specials at 188Bet Handicap Hurdle with recent easy Wincanton winner Choix Des Armes the likely favourite.  The Neil Mulholland-trained rainy Day Dylan has been running well this season and Drops of Jupitor is of interest, if she settles better in her race.

In the Best & Watch At 188Bet.co.uk Maiden Hurdle, Jeremy Scott saddles L’Auberge Du Bois who ran a fine race at  Wincanton three weeks ago to finish second in a two mile maiden hurdle on heavy ground. He had no chance with the winner, the Paul Nicholls-trained long odds on favourite Blu Cavalier, but he did nothing wrong in defeat and can go one better here today.

Sam Thomas saddles The Cannister Man who ran well at Fontwell last month to finish second and he looks likely to build on that performance.
The Play Roulette At 188Bet Casino Handicap Chase looks a prime opportunity for the Colin Tizzard-trained Never Learn  who is open to improvement while Irish Thistle can build on his reappearance after a break at Chepstow last month where he wasn’t disgraced in fourth.

Concluding the card is the Heavitree Brewery Ladies’ Night On May 8th Novices’ Hunter Chase where recent Great Trethew winner Herbert Park ought to be good enough to win. Also in the reckoning is Thereyarsee who has the promosing amateur Lorcan Williams on board.
