Newton Abbot Leisure Centre is opening its doors for a day of free activities on Saturday 23 March, with lots of healthy fun and action on offer for all ages.

Come along between 12pm to 3pm when the whole family can try a variety of free activities. There will be 30 minute adult and junior taster sessions on offer, including exercise classes, gym tours, swimming pool flume fun and a free crèche.

All activities will be based on a first come first served basis and full details of the itinerary can be found at: www.teignbridgeleisure.co.uk/events

On the day a special membership promotion means new sign-ups to Newton Abbot Leisure Centre can also take advantage of a no joining fee offer, saving £25 for adults and £10 on juniors.

If you can’t make this event then Broadmeadow Sports Centre and Dawlish Leisure Centre will be hosting their own open days on Saturday 18 May.

Cllr Phil Bullivant, Teignbridge District Council’s Executive Portfolio Holder for Recreation and Leisure, said: “Teignbridge has invested in its leisure facilities and improved the range of activities you can enjoy. So that you can see what is on offer we are throwing our doors open at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre for you to come and try.

“It is part of our strategic plan to continue to invest in the services you need to support a healthier lifestyle and we are keen that you know what is happening so that you can take full advantage of the services on offer.

“I hope you can come and see us at one of our open days and look forward to seeing you there.”

Teignbridge run leisure centres in Newton Abbot, Dawlish and Broadmeadow. The three leisure centres have sports halls, swimming pools (Newton Abbot and Dawlish), gyms, indoor cycling weight rooms and instructor led fitness classes.

For anyone who often uses the facilities then all-inclusive membership offers are available while for those who prefer water-based activities then there is a membership suited to these. Swim lessons are also available and all ages are catered for – from babies and children to parents and adults. You can learn with confidence as Teignbridge Leisure follows the Sport England Learn to Swim, using qualified teachers to provide important life skills to stay safe in the water.

Encouraging communities to be out and about and active is at the heart of Teignbridge’s ten year strategy. Teignbridge’s leisure centres provide accessible and good quality facilities which encourage a healthy lifestyle and inclusive participation.
