The organisers of Devon's not for profit sports awards today reminded contenders that nominations are now open.

The Exeter Daily has joined forces with Active Devon and the Exeter Foundation to launch a county-wide sports awards event to promote all that is best about local sport.

The competition is open to those involved in sport throughout Devon and, unlike similar awards, all profit will be donated to charity.

The Exeter Foundation Devon Sports Awards, in association with Active Devon, will once again be hosted at Sandy Park, the home of Premiership rugby team the Exeter Chiefs.

Active Devon is celebrating its 11th anniversary of hosting the awards and has partnered with the Exeter Foundation, a charity closely linked to the Exeter Chiefs, to stage a star-studded ceremony.

Tony Rowe, chairman of the Exeter Foundation, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that is great about local sport and raise money for good causes at the same time.”

Active Devon Chief Executive Matt Evans said: “We are delighted to be working with The Exeter Foundation yet again on this year’s awards, which have been elavated to a new level by this association."
