The City of Exeter Rowing Regatta takes place on Saturday 8 July on Exeter Quay this year for a full day of sprint races.

Paul Wilson, Exeter Regatta Chairman said: ‘There are over 140 races and 234 crews at this years’ regatta, including an open eight charity event for Rowcroft hospice at 5:45pm.

The Regatta at Exeter Quay is a great day out for the family.

Parents and youngsters can be inspired by the action and meet local clubs and families can also relax in the cafes shops and bars. The first race is at 10am and races follow every four minutes so there is constant action throughout the day right until the presentation of the Victor Ludorum to the most successful club.

The weather this year is looking really promising for a great event. Preparations will be going up along the historic Quayside throughout this week.

Host club Exeter, are thrilled to have been sent a message of support from rowing legend and five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave – who said “I used to love sprint rowing, it always fitted my physique. It’s dynamic with explosive power- all the ingredients needed for a fast, exciting race.”
