In 2016, Di & Sammi Rosser took part in the Twilight Walk simply because it sounded like a fun event and they felt that Hospiscare was a charity worth supporting. They could never have imagined two years later they would be walking in memory, having placed a photo of their much loved husband and dad Jeff on their memory star and displaying it, with so many others, within the special memory tent at The Maer, Exmouth.

Exeter venue hosts prestigious wedding awards

Top wedding suppliers from across the south west came together for a prestigious awards ceremony at Rockbeare Manor, outside Exeter.

The venue played host to 175 guests who were attending the south west regional finals of the Wedding Industry Awards – the only regional and national client voted awards in the wedding industry.

Princesshay and Reiss hosted an exclusive VIP event on Thursday night for regional media and bloggers to celebrate the start of Christmas in Exeter. The event included an evening of fashion, beauty, fizz and canapes courtesy of Lloyd’s Lounge, along with a festive styling session from Reiss’ store manager, Helena Paterson. Saks, Goldsmiths and Kiel’s all provided a taste of their Christmas offerings at the event, and music was provided by local duo Conscious Club.

Fundraising dinner raises £7,500 to combat homelessness across Exeter

On Friday 12th October YMCA Exeter held its third annual fundraising dinner at Woodbury Park Hotel with guests including The High Sheriff of Devon, Mrs Grania Philips, and Chief Constable of Devon & Cornwall Police, Shaun Sawyer.

The Black Tie event was attended by 160 people and through ticket sales, a silent auction and individual pledges, and so far YMCA Exeter have raised £7,500 with donations still being made.

Celebrating its 174th year, the recent prestigious Dartmouth Sailing Week was a huge success. With more competitors than in previous years, taking part from clubs right along the South coast, Dartmouth, and its surrounding waters, was buzzing with activity. Hospiscare is asking ‘going green’ at the upcoming Twilight Walk in Exmouth, which takes place on Saturday, 7 July. The charity is also taking measures to keep environmental impact at the event as low as possible – for example, no ready-filled water bottles will be available.

Along with the Twilight Walk’s usual 5-mile and 10-mile routes there will be a 5k fun run – and all walkers and runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to cut down on single-use plastic bottles. Cathedral Financial Management (CFM) hosts art exhibition as part of Art Week Exeter

Award-winning CFM sponsored Art Week Exeter - the city’s art festival, by hosting an art reception at Eagle House, Exeter Science Park. A new activity is hitting the streets of Exeter this week with the launch of the Tramble App, a 60-minute walking challenge where you answer 10 questions based on what you see along the route.

There are currently two of the Tramble walks in Exeter with more to follow in the summer.

I went out and did the Exeter Cathedral and Quay Tramble and saw a few parts of hidden Exeter that I have always somehow missed before. There is the House that Moved and a famous literary connection I was dumbfounded by.
