Dream-A-Way Christmas Party at Bicton

As 2012 draws to a close, Exeter-Based Charity Dream-A-Way entertained more than 70 special guests and their carers at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, where owner Valerie Lister and her team dished up another fantastic Christmas lunch and all were delighted with their gifts from the Real Santa.

The Royal Marines C Group charity presented to a networking event at the Exeter Golf and Country Club and awarded the Club’s 2013 President with their Ambassador status.

The C Group supports Royal Marines in need, particularly those who have been injured on operations and in transition to civilian life.

Exeter Initiative for Science & Technology quarterly event

Exeter Initiative for Science and Technology (ExIST) held their fifth quarterly event at Exeter College's new Technology Centre on Sowton Industrial Estate in October.

110 business leaders gathered for the event, which celebrated the wealth of Science and Technology companies operating in Exeter and its sub-region.

Attendees heard from four key speakers who are actively involved in ExIST; Richard Atikins - Principle of Exeter College, Lewis Jones of South West Water, David Pike of Graphic PLC and Nick Ames of Supacat.

Exeter Chamber of Commerce October Networking Lunch

Guest speaker and former Express & Echo editor Marc Astley spoke to us about his latest venture - a daily online news and information service- The Exeter Daily.

The Exeter Daily launched on October 8 and will carry regular news updates as well as what's on, sport and business information.

Marc explained how businesses, in particular, are able to use the site for free as part of their marketing strategy.

As always, this networking event attracted a huge crowd and was held at the Mercure Southgate Hotel in central Exeter.

Despite the dreadful weather conditions, Wednesday's Chamber Networking lunch attracted a huge turnout - with over 145 attendees signed up to attend the event.

Local band Stillyano will be playing at the St James Centre starting at 8pm on 24th November with all proceeds going to the Adam Stansfield Foundation. The band made who are Antony Stylianou (Singer/Guitarist), Ian Kendray (Drums) and Seth Dunnett (Bass) have seen their popularity and fan base grow have this year been helping raise funds for charities this way throughout the year. Exeter City Football Club in conjunction with Paramount Personnel entertained key clients with a private showing of the new James Bond film Skyfall at the Vue Cinema Exeter.

Guests enjoyed Bollinger, courtesy of St Austell Brewery, and canapés by Brakes Food Services supplying.

There was quite a buzz when Exeter U3A celebrated the 30th birthday of the national third age movement.
