The chance to be part of history has proved the dream ticket for many as the final places for the Grand Reopening of Sandy Park were sold today.

A sell-out audience of 600 people will come together on Thursday, October 2 to celebrate the completion of the multi-million pound redevelopment.

With Sandy Park currently undergoing major redevelopment works, the award-winning Rugby & Event venue promises to be the crown jewel within the Westcountry when it comes to offering Premier Sport and Conferencing needs.

And it seems everyone wants to experience the new-look venue - which will have doubled in size once completed - by coming together for a night of celebration.

In what promises to be a night of fun-filled entertainment, former England Rugby World Cup winner and British Lions star Will Greenwood will be joined on stage by former Somerset, Derbyshire and Leicestershire cricketer Peter Bowler, as well as highly-rated comedian Bob Webb.

As well as showcasing the fantastic new facilities on offer, the evening also has a serious side to it with the night helping to raise vital funds for the Exeter Foundation.

The Foundation - which is the official club charity of the Exeter Chiefs Rugby team - was set up in 2010 by some of Exeter’s top names in business and sport who joined together to use their expertise to raise money for charities and to support key projects across the region.

Its aim was simple to provide the City of Exeter and its surrounding areas with a ‘Civic Trust’ to grasp responsibility for the advancement of Greater Exeter, and to pursue the vision of people who live, work and run businesses within the local community.

Commenting on the news that the night will be a sell-out, Sandy Park Sales & Event Manager, Bev Gratton, said: "We always knew the reopening of Sandy Park would attract the attention of people locally, but the speed in which we have sold this event out has been phenomenal.

"Demand for tickets across the board has been non-stop and it demonstrates that Sandy Park, especially in its new-look form, will be a major draw to all of our customers.

"The line-up of assembled talent, together with the Exeter Foundation work, has merely added to what we think will be an outstanding night of entertainment for all."
