Amy tackles huge challenge to thank FORCE

Twelve months ago, Amy Martin could barely run at all after a tough regime of cancer treatment.

But on Sunday May 24, she’ll be one of 440 people lining up as part of Team FORCE at Exeter’s Great West Run.

Amy aims to raise £1,000 for FORCE Cancer Charity to say thank you for all the support she has received from them since a diagnosis of breast cancer in late 2023.

Money worries loom large in Exeter

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has released the results from its fourth economic well-being survey which ran in January.

Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive Steve Barriball said: “A key finding is that just over half of those who responded to the survey, some 51%, said that they were worried about their financial position. However, this is down from 56% a year ago. Also, income levels seem to have stabilised, with 59% of those responding saying their income levels remained the same.

Staff give RD&E glowing report in NHS survey

Staff at the RD&E have given the Trust a glowing report in the 2016 NHS staff survey released yesterday (7 March 2017).

Staff highly recommend the Trust as a place to work and to receive treatment placing it in the top 20% of Acute Trusts nationally.

In addition, the survey findings place the RD&E in the top 20% of hospitals nationally for half of the key findings, including staff involvement in improvements at work, effective team working and placing the care of patients as the organisation's top priority.

Exeter College has held its Annual Awards celebrating apprentices and honouring the employers that support the work of the college’s award winning apprenticeship programme.

More than 150 Apprentices, employers from around the region, key business leaders, friends and family attended the glittered awards ceremony held at Sandy Park.
