Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

Staff at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe are hoping an overlooked rescue dog finds love this Valentine’s Day, after waiting almost four years for that special someone at the rehoming centre.

Lacey, the seven-year-old Collie is described by staff as a “wonderful dog” with tonnes of love to give, yet sadly continues to be ignored by potential adopters. Devon welcomes calls to tackle HGVs driving on unsuitable roads

Devon County Council has welcomed the Local Government Association’s (LGA) calls for local authorities to be given powers to tackle lorry drivers that flout height and weight restrictions.

The LGA, which represents councils in England and Wales, wants all lorry drivers who use satnavs to be compelled to use commercial models which enable the driver to enter the lorry's dimensions so they are only guided along suitable roads. The LGA is asking the Government to enable councils to take enforcement action where necessary to enforce weight and width restrictions.

Everyone across the South West is being asked to unite on World Cancer Day, Saturday 4 February, to help beat cancer sooner. Researchers in Exeter have got together to highlight the day following news of a £5m grant in funding to improve the early detection of cancers in GP surgeries. Cancer Research UK is calling on men, women and children to play their part by wearing a Unity Band or donating. ‘Heaven Sent’ Sculpture heads to Princesshay

This spring, Princesshay will play host to a large and exciting sculpture across the Easter period for three weeks.

Independence secures future for Devon’s Youth Service

Devon’s youth services will be run by a new and independent organisation from 1 February.
