Nationwide and Dementia UK’s free face-to-face clinics are returning to Nationwide’s Torquay, Plymouth and Exmouth branches this February, offering specialist support in a safe, comfortable and private space for people to discuss any aspect of dementia.

Royal Marines Cadet attends prestigious Beat the Retreat ceremony

First Sea Lord Cadet Corporal William Darnbrough, a year 9 pupil at St Peters CofE School in Exeter attended his 1st official engagement this week, travelling to London to take part in the prestigious and historic biennial Beat the Retreat ceremony at Horseguards, followed by a reception at Admiralty House.

The Crediton Parish Church Flower Festival has introduced some unusual visitors to the church in the last few years.

Devon artist raises £10,000 for special care babies

When Devon artist Jennie Rhodes was asked to create a picture in aid of the Torbay Special Care Baby Unit and Exeter Neonatal Unit, little did she realise the units’ tiny tots would play a major part in her design, which raised an amazing £10,000 at a charity auction.

Budding photographer Patrick Dixon, from Exeter, is announced the regional winner of nationwide photography competition Patient Portraits: A New You and will be going on to represent the South West at the national phase of the competition.

Funds support therapy for young Harriet

The cost of funding one year’s specialist therapy for an 11-year-old with cerebral palsy has been met by a local housebuilder.

Persimmon Homes South West has made the donation to fund conductive therapy for Harriet Dunn from Exeter.

The £1,000 grant was made through its hugely successful Community Champions campaign.
