Work to start on Heavitree Road bus improvements

Improvement work to enhance bus services on Heavitree Road in Exeter will get underway next month (February).

The scheme, which will start on Monday 2 February, involves the construction of a new traffic island and installation of a new set of traffic signals at the end of the outbound (eastbound) bus lane between Grendon Road and Polsloe Road/Barrack Road.

Officers investigating an assault at Dawlish station, where a man was head-butted by another man, are today appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 8.30pm on 25 August, there was an altercation on platform one at the station between two men. The victim, who has not yet contacted police, was head-butted by the suspect who then walks away. A short while later he returns, and kicks and punches the man several times before boarding a train on platform one. The charitable trust behind the project to restore and invigorate an historic house on the outskirts of Exeter are looking for new trustees with specialist skills.

CPRE Devon and Devon Norse join forces to clean up Exeter’s Sowton Estate

A staggering amount of litter was collected in just one hour on Exeter’s Sowton Industrial Estate last Friday in a joint litter-pick by the Devon branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England and Devon Norse.

Three intrepid cyclists are riding from Topsham to Turkey on an adventure of a lifetime.
