Exeter lawyer Becky Wyld has been chosen to form part of a mosaic to mark 100 years of Women’s Suffrage which is being unveiled at Birmingham’s New Street Station on Thursday 15 November.

inspirational women throughout the ages. When viewed from above, the mosaic will show a leading face from the suffrage movement.

Becky, who is a Legal Executive in the health advisory and litigation team in Browne Jacobson’s Exeter office, was one of 23 inspirational female employees nominated by colleagues at the national firm to be a part of the Network Rail initiative.

Julia Green, Head of Browne Jacobson’s Exeter office, said: “Most of the women who will feature will be from the West Midlands so we are delighted that Becky has been chosen as one of the few faces to feature from this area. We have so many inspirational women at the firm so we are really proud that some of those will be a part of an initiative to mark such an historic occasion in British history.”

Becky Wyld, added : “It is an honour to be a part of this celebration. Over 170,000 passengers use the station every day and hopefully this amazing mosaic, along with the many other celebrations we have seen this year to mark this historic occasion, will go onto to inspire future generations of women in the way that the suffragette movement has done for the last 100 years.”

Artist Helen Marshall, who runs photography and design studio The People’s Project, will create the mosaic. Helen has installed similar projects across Britain marking other historic occasions.

The artwork will be on display from Thursday 15 November to Friday 14 December - the day which marks the 100th anniversary of women voting for the first time. In 1918, the Representation of the People Act gave the first British women the right to vote and stand for public office.
