Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

Exeter youngsters beat 10,000 others to win prize

A group of young people from Exeter who devised a new system for Foodbank donations at a city centre supermarket have been rewarded for their efforts, beating 10,000 other projects to win a prestigious prize.

The group, who are aged 15-17, took part in this summer’s National Citizen Service (NCS), which is run in Exeter by the CITY Community Trust.

New £300m vision for Exeter city centre revealed

A new £300m vision to redevelop a key site in the centre of Exeter has been revealed by the City Council.

The development concept for Exeter Bus Station includes housing, offices, restaurants and retail, as well as the possibility of a new multi-use entertainment venue.

It would sit alongside the planned new state-of-the art Passivhaus leisure complex St Sidwell’s Point, and a new Exeter Bus Station, which are both being funded by the city council.

Blacksmiths from all over the South West are set to gather at the National Trust’s Finch Foundry on Saturday 24 November. Once a year, they congregate at the foundry to practice their art and celebrate their patron saint, Saint Clement, harking back to medieval tradition. DEVON climbers, hikers and walkers are being asked to help keep Exeter’s homeless warm this Christmas and New Year through donations of nearly new rucksacks, sleeping bags and outdoor clothing (November 2018).

For its next Well Built Community Fund, RGB Building Supplies is inviting groups, schools and charities to get in contact with details of environmental projects for the chance to receive £1,000 to spend at an RGB branch.

Exeter pupils walk 10 miles to mark First World War centenary

On Friday 9th November, 100 students from Isca Academy in Exeter marked the centenary of the end of World War One by walking 10 miles from Exmouth to Exeter.

A group of young wheelchair users from an Exeter-based youth club run by the young disabled people’s charity Whizz-Kidz have celebrated completing a year of activities tackling youth loneliness.
