Exeter Racecourse is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) for ELF Raceday, taking place on Friday 5th December 2025.

Through this collaboration, ELF and Exeter Racecourse will launch a special gifting programme aimed at bringing joy to children and families supported by the charity during the Festive season.

Dr Adolfo De Sanctis, 30, a Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, is attending Parliament to present his physics research to a range of politicians and a panel of expert judges, as part of STEM for BRITAIN on Wednesday 13th March.

Adolfo’s poster on research about boosting the efficiency of solar panels using two-dimensional materials will be judged against dozens of other scientists’ research in the only national competition of its kind.

Exeter wins funding to tackle homelessness

Exeter has won funding to help get homeless people off the streets and into homes, the City Council has announced.

Exeter City Council will received £120,800 from the government.

One of the many problems the Council faces is getting homeless people into private rented properties. Often landlords will achieve higher rents from elsewhere in the market.

The money will help address the issue improving access to private to these properties for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping.

Record year for tourism in South Devon and bumper start to 2019

Latest figures from Visit South Devon reveal that 2018 was an exceptional year for tourism with visitors to www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk up more than 5% on 2017.

The first two months of 2019 have seen the upward trend continue with site visits up almost 6% on the same period last year, including a dramatic 20% leap in overseas traffic.
