Exeter Racecourse has launched a brand-new Community Raceday and is inviting people across Devon to nominate a community hero who deserves recognition.

Community Raceday takes place on Friday, February 20, during half term, and coincides with Devon Day at the racecourse. The initiative celebrates the people who make a real difference in their communities – from volunteers and carers to sports coaches, fundraisers and quiet grafters who go above and beyond.

THE 11th Exeter Pride, which turned the City rainbow-coloured on Saturday, May 11, has been hailed as the biggest and best yet.

More than 10,000 people showed their support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) communities in the region by taking part or attending.

Network Rail is inviting residents to a drop-in session in Dawlish to inform the local community about planned work relating to construction of the new sea wall to the west of the railway station, which is due to start at the end of May.

The Leader-elect of Exeter City Council has said he intends to push for Exeter to declare a Climate Emergency.

Cllr Phil Bialyk, who is set to become Exeter City Council’s new Leader tomorrow night (Tuesday 14 May) at the City’s Annual Council meeting, said he will raise the matter at the next available meeting.
