The Devon County Show is proud to announce the launch of its first‑ever Community Growing Hub, a major new feature for 2026 designed to inspire visitors of all ages to get growing, get gardening, and get connected. Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, David Fursdon, and the Chairman of Devon County Council, Cllr Stuart Barker, have both paid tribute to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on the announcement of his death today, Friday 9 April 2021.

An Exeter care home has taken visiting to a new level with the creation of a dedicated summerhouse for families and friends to use as a dedicated testing area before entering the home to visit their loved ones.

The garden building situated at the front of the Old Rectory Nursing home provides a peaceful place where families can take their lateral flow Covid-19 test and relax for half an hour while awaiting the results.

Hospital Radio Exeter has benefitted to the tune of just over £9,500 thanks to a grant from the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.

The money will enable the station team to update their playout system and provide an opportunity to develop and expand the service in the future.

Rare photos and a medal from the halcyon days of rugby will be auctioned in Chilcotts sale on April 17.

The items were discovered during a routine house clearance, bringing to light the history of one local family’s deep connection with the sport.

Initially three black and white team photographs were found. Two are of Exeter RFC team 1930-31 and 1931-32, and the other depicts the Honiton RFC team of 1935-6 pictured sitting in front of the pavilion on Allhallows Playing Fields. EE today announced it has switched on 5G in Exeter, as the city joins 34 other places to get connected to its 5G network across the UK.

EE has added outdoor 5G coverage to some of the UK’s most popular tourist landmarks, historical sites, and coastal locations as lockdown restrictions start to ease and attractions begin to reopen from next week.

The 5G coverage from EE is now available in popular locations including Exeter Cathedral, Exeter Quay, Exeter Central train station and the main University campus.

Every adult in Devon is being encouraged to take a rapid, lateral flow test for coronavirus twice a week, and now they can do so in a variety of ways including through testing centres, workplaces, pharmacies, or home delivery .

The tests are fast and convenient, and results are usually available within the hour.

Rapid lateral flow tests are for people who show no symptoms of coronavirus – the new and continuous cough, high temperature, or change to their usual sense of taste or smell. People with these symptoms should immediately self-isolate and arrange a PCR test via the NHS...

Retail stores will open their doors in Princesshay, Exeter from 12th April, following the recent update from the UK government allowing non-essential retail to re-open.
