Team FORCE smash it at the 2026 Great West Run

Team FORCE has again pulled out all the stops at this year’s Great West Run.

Nearly 450 people ran either the half marathon or 10K around the streets of Exeter and beyond in Sunday’s sweltering heat to support FORCE Cancer Charity.

Between them they have raised more than £135,000 so far, which will support local people dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is inviting people across the South West to take part in free community events this October to learn lifesaving CPR, as part of the annual Restart a Heart (RSAH) initiative.

An Exeter veterinary practice has welcomed the former head of a South African zoo who has treated everything from chimpanzees to penguins as its new exotics vet.

Stephen Vanderspuy has joined Linnaeus-owned City Vets in Exeter, an appointment which coincides with the arrival of practice director Stuart Ford-Fennah from renowned referral centre Cave Veterinary Specialists, in Somerset.

Loganair set to launch new service from Exeter

Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, is gearing up to launch a new route from Exeter to Manchester.

The new route is part of Loganair’s growing network from the airport, adding to its existing services, which include direct flights to Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Starting on 26 October, the new service will introduce frequent flights between the two cities, before moving to a daily service from March 2026.

Robert Kittle and his partner, Julie Goodwin, explained that they went to the shop to pick up a newspaper, but ended up picking up a scratchcard instead.
