Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

Council raises the flag for Exeter Pride

Councillors, staff and representatives from voluntary and public sectors attended a flag flying ceremony at County Hall to mark Exeter Pride, which takes place today (16 May).

The ‘rainbow flag’ was raised by Devon County Council’s Chief Executive, Phil Norrey.

Mr Norrey said: “The county council is delighted to mark the 7th Exeter Pride event by flying the rainbow flag outside our Exeter Headquarters. We have come a long way over the past few years but there is still much to do ensure that to ensure that members of the LGBT feel safe in being ‘out’.”

Mary's special girls' night out

A limousine picked up birthday girl Mary Mills from Hospiscare’s Exeter hospice to enjoy a “fantastic” night out with her girlfriends.

Despite being very poorly Mary was determined to put on her glad rags and have fun. “I had been planning this for weeks and although I felt rough and was weak on the day I knew I had 18 girlfriends and two limos waiting for me! Everybody I knew who was special to me was going to be there.

Increase of over £2k for those in debt

Local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau today publishes its annual advice trend statistics for the year-ending 31st March 2015. The charity helped 6170 people directly with advice and information on 15081 individual problems.

On average, clients with money problems have debts totaling £14,746.65, up by £2,046.48 compared to the previous year when the average was £12,700.17.

The amount of advice that the charity has been able to provide has increased in the following areas compared to last year:

Spacex announce Kickstarter campaign launch

After a period of temporary closure in response to funding reductions, Spacex has changed the way it works. In place of being a gallery with a rolling programme of exhibitions Spacex now produces projects in collaboration with a wide range of partners.

Enabling the artistic process remains at the core of what Spacex does and it needs support from the public in order to continue this work.

The Down's Syndrome Association (DSA) is launching an exciting project called 'Having a Voice' in the South West.

This proactive scheme enables people with Down's syndrome to contribute to both local and national policy, to directly influence the national charity and to share their life experiences. An Exeter man has caused an internet sensation by strutting down the city’s High Street wearing hotpants and heels – all in aid of Hospiscare!

More than 137,000 people have watched videos of bearded Mark Williamson, wearing a tie, shirt and jacket, with bright blue shiny hot-pants and heels, strutting his stuff to bemused shoppers.

Exeter bee project launches Queen Bee rearing programme

Princesshay’s City Bee project has launched a brand new Queen Bee rearing programme as part of the centre’s continued development of its rooftop environmental scheme.
