In July EX2 Group was proud to support Building Greater Exeter’s Work Experience Week, an inspiring initiative aimed at introducing Year 10 students to careers in the built environment.

EX2 group team member James Rayner TMIET, led an engaging hands-on solar masterclass for Year 10 students from the Ted Wragg Trust.

Body found on East Devon beach

The body of a woman was found at Budleigh Salterton beach on Friday 14 August.

The body was discovered shortly before 6pm, not far from Steamer steps by a member of the public.

Police believe the body to be that of 48-year-old Jayne Brocklehurst, who has been missing from her home in Budleigh since Saturday 8 August.

A police spokesman said: “Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the family have been informed.”

All lanes are now open and traffic is easing after earlier accident investigation work on A38 near Chudleigh.

Emergency services were called at 3.45am (Monday 17 August) after a Ford Transit van left the road and collided with a tree near to the Chudleigh turn off.

Three men have been taken to hospital and one of the men has sustained serious injuries.

The van was transporting six dogs who are all safe and have temporarily been taken to a local kennel.

The A38 northbound remains closed near Chudleigh following a serious collision earlier this morning (Monday 17 August).

Severe droughts could lead to widespread loss of butterflies by 2050

Widespread drought-sensitive butterfly population extinctions could occur in the UK as early as 2050 according to a new study published today in the scientific journal Nature Climate Change.

However, the authors conclude that substantial greenhouse gas emission reductions combined with better management of landscapes, in particular reducing habitat fragmentation, will greatly improve the chances of drought-sensitive butterflies flying until at least 2100.

A38 closed due to serious accident

The A38 is closed Exeter-bound at Chudleigh Knighton and there is queuing traffic between the B3344 junction and Kingsteignton turn off, because of accident investigation work.

It is understood a man suffered life-changing injuries in the crash at around 4am today.

The accident involved one vehicle registered to a foreign address. Two people have been taken to hospital - one to Plymouth and the other to Torquay.

A diversion is in operation - via the B3344 through Chudleigh Knighton and Finlake.

Playing Tetris for as little as three minutes at a time can weaken cravings for drugs, food and activities such as sex and sleeping by approximately one fifth, according to new research.
