Complicated and extensive Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) that customers face, or all too often choose to ignore, are being reviewed by the government.

In September 2015, Which? carried out research that looked at the terms and conditions for car and travel insurance. Some of the longest were over 38,000 words, longer than Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) is asking consumers who have experienced issues when consulting their terms and conditions to respond to the Call for Evidence.

Devon County Council leader John Hart has shelved plans to ask schools to pay for their own lollipop men and women after reviewing representations from families across the county.

The authority had planned to save £250,000 as part of its £26 million budget cuts for 2016/17.

A team from Carling Technologies in Exeter is training hard for their charity cycle ride from Exeter to Paris – all in support of Children’s Hospice South West.

The ride will take place from the 27 – 30 May and the team has set themselves a target of raising £50k for the hospice which cares for children, and their families, who are not expected to live until adulthood.
