A food blogger has travelled by bus to some of the best eateries across Exeter and beyond to find out how accessible they are on public transport.

Chris Gower, founder of the Eating Exeter blog that has over 4,000 subscribers, travelled to his culinary destinations using Stagecoach South West’s bus services. Devon County Council and the NHS are asking carers what they think excellent carers’ services would look like in Devon.

The organisations, which form the Devon Carers Partnership, are thinking now about the support services that they’ll be tendering again for in future, so they’ve arranged events around the county to ask carers what they think.

St James Park development gets go-ahead

Exeter City Football Club has conirmed that the Secretary of State has given the go-ahead to the St James Park Development.

Plans to replace the ageing Stagecoach Family Stand had been put on hold while the club waited to hear the outcome of a request for the development plans to be called-in from the St James Forum.

Fire crews tackle garage blaze in Exmouth

Fire crews were called to a fire at a garage in Exmouth this afternoon (Saturday 14 May).

Two appliances from Exmouth were sent to the incident in Hulham Road just after 4pm.

On arrival crews found the fire within the garage involving a sit on lawn mower. Crews tackled the fire using a hose reel and a covering jet.

The lawnmower was completely destroyed by fire with the garage and contents 70% damaged by fire

Help allow people to die and live with dignity by supporting the Hospiscare Coffee Morning urged broadcaster Judi Spiers.

Judi was speaking at the official launch of the local charity’s latest campaign to raise funds to help 2,200 terminally ill patients who are cared for by Hospiscare across Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

Exeter researchers recognised among UK’s best

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has recognised another researcher at the University of Exeter Medical School as being one of the most outstanding health researchers in the UK.

Professor Stuart Logan, Cerebra Professor of Paediatric Epidemiology, has been made NIHR Senior Investigator for his commitment to the field. It means the Medical School now has four professors recognised with the NIHR’s prestigious title.
