Police are appealing for information after a man exposed himself in the St Thomas area of Exeter.

A woman called police at 3am on Sunday 12 June to report a sighting a man who was walking barefoot and naked from the waist down. He was wearing a hooded top and is described as white, of medium to stocky build and in his late thirties to early forties.

The incident happened near St Thomas the Apostle’s Church. Officers from the neighbourhood policing team conducted an area search but were not able to locate the man.

The man did not approach the woman and he was not committing an indecent act. When sighted he ran off.

Sergeant Colin Harper of the Cowick and St Thomas neighbourhood policing team said: “This man has been seen on a number of occasions. While he has not committed an indecent act or approached anyone who has seen him, he is indecently exposing himself.

“If anyone sees him behaving in the same manner we would ask them not to approach him but to please to call police immediately. If you are in any doubt about your safety, please call 999.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who knows who this man is.”

If you can help police identify him, please contact 101@dc.police.uk quoting CR/037839/16, or call 101.

You can also give information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
