Work to resume on Moor Lane roundabout

Work is set to resume on the upgrade of Moor Lane roundabout in Exeter this week, with the scheme having been revised.

The improvements were temporarily put on hold earlier this month following complications with the utility services.

Some of the utilities need major diversions which cannot be achieved within the original scope of the scheme. It means the additional lane being developed on the approach to the Moor Lane roundabout from the direction of Sowton Industrial Estate has had to be shortened in length.

Contractor MacPlant will now re-start excavation work on site on Thursday (27 February). A lane closure will be needed for safety reasons on Thursday and Friday (28 February) to enable them to dig trial holes to locate existing service utilities on the verge of Moor Lane, near the junction with Avocet Road.

This lane closure will then remain in place for the next few months as work on the revised scheme continues.
