Woman found dead in East Devon

Police are investigating the death of a woman found in a vehicle in East Devon.

Following information received police attended the area of Fenny Bridges in East Devon at around 4pm on Wednesday 2nd December.

A woman’s body was found in a vehicle in this area.

She has yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be a 71-year-old local woman.

A forensic post mortem will be carried out later today.

Investigating and scene of crime officers will today continue an examination of a vehicle and the area in Fenny Bridges where it was discovered.

A 66-year-old man is in police custody at Heavitree Road Police Station having been arrested on suspicion of murder and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
