Win Red Roses tickets with Live and Move and Exeter Leisure

Families in Exeter have the chance this week to win passes to the long-awaited international rugby match between England’s Red Roses and the New Zealand Black Ferns, taking place at Sandy Park later this month.

To be in with a chance of winning one of three family passes to the game, participants are invited to take a selfie of themselves or a photo of the family walking a section of Exeter’s Green Circle – a 12-mile walking and cycling route that takes in the five valley parks within the boundaries of the city.

Exeter Leisure and Live and Move, Exeter and Cranbrook’s Sport England pilot aimed at encouraging us all to move a little more in our everyday lives, say that the Green Circle is a great collection of routes for anybody looking to get outside this autumn.

James Bogue, Programme Lead for Live and Move, says: ‘If you live in Exeter, then you won’t be far from the Green Circle. This competition encourages people to explore it whilst also having the opportunity to win tickets to a high-profile game. We can’t wait to see the pictures of people out and about enjoying what’s literally on our doorstep.’

You can find a map of the Exeter Green Circle at liveandmove.co.uk/ExeterGreenCircle, or get in touch with one of your local Be Active team members liveandmove.co.uk/wellbeing-exeter-be-active to find walking routes near to you.

The international game promises to be full of excitement and Exeter Chiefs women’s head coach, Susie Appleby, will be watching closely:

‘We’re thrilled to see this international fixture in the South West, with the world’s top two teams set to renew their rivalry. The appetite for women’s rugby is growing in Devon and Cornwall, with the Exeter Chiefs women at the forefront of this development. To host a match of this magnitude will bring a wider audience to the sport, and hopefully serve to inspire the next generation of girls to pick up a rugby ball!’

Red Roses head coach Simon Middleton said, “Going to Exeter has proven to be a huge success in the Test matches we’ve had there to date. The atmosphere in the ground and the way they promote the games is second to none. The buzz we get from just arriving at the stadium on a matchday, it makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. It’s brilliant to be going back there. The ‘Live and Move’ challenge is a great initiative and will be a fantastic addition to supporters’ matchday routine. If you can, join the challenge to be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to the game.”

How to enter

Those entering the competition can choose any part of the Green Circle route and take a selfie or a photo of the family next to one of the green ‘wayfinder’ arrow signs. They can then simply share it on the Live and Move social media using #RedRosesGreenCircle (make sure your post is ‘public’ if it’s on Facebook) or email it to the project team at GreenCircle@liveandmove.co.uk.

The competition runs from Thursday 21 October until Thursday 28 October. The three winners will be chosen at random from all entries on Friday 29 October just in time for the match, which takes place on Sunday 31 October 2021 at Sandy Park.
