Pete Greig, visionary and national prayer leader, is coming to Exeter one night only. Churches and Christians across Devon are being invited to book their free tickets and come hear him speak and be inspired.

Pete is a best-selling author, pastor and instigator of the 24-7 Prayer movement which aims to inspire and equip Christians and Churches in their prayer life. The movement has reached more than half the nations on earth and has resourced many hundreds of thousands of people to learn how to pray and more effectively.

He is also the Senior Pastor of Emmaus Rd Church, Guildford, England, an Ambassador for the NGO Tearfund, and teaches at St Mellitus Theological College in London.

For 7 years Pete served with the senior leadership team at Holy Trinity Brompton, one of the most influential churches in the country, and Alpha International. Pete's publications have become best sellers and include 'Red Moon Rising', 'God on Mute', ‘The Prayer Course’, and 'Dirty Glory'.

He is coming to Exeter to launch his new book ‘How to Pray’ which is already a best seller on Amazon, and the updated Prayer Course which is available online.

Pete said, ‘Recent research has made a surprising discovery: more and more people in the UK are praying and even returning to church. Over the last 20 years working with everyone from the Archbishop of Canterbury to club promoters in Ibiza, we’ve seen a growing spiritual hunger and my new book seeks to help normal people answer one of the biggest questions of life: how to pray. We all need a little more peace. A bit of help from above and this book will help you know how. I’m especially excited to be coming to Exeter where the churches are working together in such a wonderful way and there are real signs that behind all the bad news there is good news that people are returning to faith and perhaps the tide is beginning to turn.’

Rediscover Church Lead Pastor Mark Pugh added, ‘‘When we lose our phone signal or our WiFi drops out, we can feel frustratingly disconnected. Prayer is our continual, reliable connection with God but people often feel inadequate in how to do it. We’re delighted to welcome Pete Grieg who has been simplifying the answer to ‘how do we pray’ for years. His honest and inspiring approach doesn’t just leave people thinking ‘I can do that’ but leaves them wanting to give it a go.’’

The event takes place on Friday 20th September 8pm at Rediscover Church, Northernhay Street, Exeter EX4 3ER.

Tickets are free and can be booked at www.rediscoverchurch.com/risingtide
