Shipping Specialist Steps in after Artists’ Exhibition Success
A south coast art shipping specialist has been called upon to help two Devon artists send a collection of works to the United States after a visitor bought an entire gallery wall of their work on the final day of their exhibition.
Exeter-area artists Emma Rosa and Chloe Farrant had been exhibiting together at Green & Stone in London, where their joint show, Entanglement, ran from 18 to 30 May.
The works had originally been due to return to the artists’ studios following the exhibition, but arrangements changed after an American visitor bought the display and asked for the pieces to be shipped overseas.
The artists then contacted PACK & SEND Plymouth to prepare the highly fragile, five-figure-value collection, comprising Rosa’s botanical textile pieces and Farrant’s ceramic artworks, for safe and secure international transport.
Opened in 2025, PACK & SEND Plymouth provides a range of postal, freight, courier, packing and removal services, specialising in the shipment of fragile, large, awkward and valuable items.
Across its network of centres, PACK & SEND has previously handled packing and shipping of artworks by some of the world’s most famous artists, including Banksy, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Tracey Emin and Jeff Koons, and is an approved service provider to LAPADA, the largest association of professional art and antiques dealers in the UK.
Victor Oyegue of PACK & SEND Plymouth said: “This is exactly the kind of shipment we are set up to handle. The works are delicate, valuable and important to both the artists and the buyer, so the packing process has to be carefully planned from the outset.
“Emma and Chloe came in to talk us through the pieces and explain how they need to be handled and installed when they arrive. That kind of detail is really useful because it means we can prepare the shipment properly and help make sure the customer in America receives the works as intended.”
Emma Rosa said: “To have the whole wall purchased on the final day of the exhibition was a wonderful surprise. We are pleased to be working with PACK & SEND Plymouth to make sure the pieces are packed with care and sent safely to their new home in America.”
