The second annual Slow Fashion Show is taking place in Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 21st September.

The Slow Fashion Show is an event hosted by Sancho's with the support of In Exeter. We are hosting the event to showcase the independent brands and businesses in the city and acknowledge the growing awareness of sustainable lifestyle in the city.

The catwalk will feature an inclusive range of models, challenging the industry norm of a narrow view of beauty.

Olivia Riley from Sancho's said: "Our group of models will be wearing a mix of sustainable, ethical and independent brands. We have local exhibitors coming from all over Devon to showcase their ethical gifting and accessories.

"We want to encourage conversations on the current global crisis and our role within society through our guest speakers who are attending our event. Local artists and makers will also join us to run workshops on the evening with the theme of sustainability and reducing waste.

"Our goal is to communicate to the public the importance of shopping small and the breadth of independent talent we have here in Exeter.

"The fast fashion industry is in the top 5 most pollutive industries. Slow fashion is the antidote to this, made from sustainable fabrics in fair and safe working conditions.

"In addition, the current high street model is dying with big names closing down, here in Exeter and all over the country. Shopping independently and ethically has never been so crucial and so powerful in protecting our cities, and we want to show our guests the benefits of this through our Slow Fashion Show event this September."
