Police appeal after man stabbed in Exeter

Police were called to Leighton Terrace, Exeter, just before 9.50pm last night [Sunday 15 January] following reports of a man being stabbed.

The Police helicopter was called to assist in a police search for the suspect, who was subsequently located in woods just off of Prince of Wales Road, Exeter.

An off-duty paramedic and ambulance services were also on the scene to assist with the victim who had several stab wounds.

The 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A scene guard currently remains at Howell Road.

A 46-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and is currently in police custody.
