Police appeal after man attacked in nightclub

Police in Exeter are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault at a nightclub in the city.

Officers are keen to trace the man pictured, wearing a maroon tTshirt, as he may be able to assist with their enquiries about the assault that happened at Club Rococo at around 2.10am on Saturday 21June.

An 18-year-old man was assaulted inside the club after a man became aggressive.

The victim suffered serious injuries after the man picked up a bottle and hit him over the head with it.

Detective Constable Guy Biggar, Exeter CID, said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked assault on a young man which left him hospitalised with lacerations to his face and head.”
