There are just over two weeks left to enter NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s ‘Picture Your Health’ photography and picture competition.

The theme of the competition is ‘healthy people, living healthy lives, in healthy communities’, so if you are doing something healthy with your family this Easter weekend, why not take a photograph showing what health in Devon means to you?

You can take a picture of anything from a family walk or bicycle ride in Devon’s countryside, to a day at the beach or a football match.

If the sun doesn’t shine this weekend, you could get creative at home and draw or create a healthy picture, or take a photograph of an indoor activity or a healthy meal you have prepared.

You could even send in a photograph or picture you already have.

There are three prizes for the best pictures:

• 1st prize – healthy hamper
• 2nd prize – sports equipment
• 3rd prize – family day out

The best images will also feature in this year’s NHS NEW Devon CCG annual report, which will be published online.

Dr Alex Degan, a GP from Mid Devon and Vice Chair of the Mid Devon sub-locality of NEW Devon CCG, is one of the ‘Picture Your Health’ competition judges.

Dr Degan said: “We will be really looking at how people interpret the word ‘healthy’ when picking a winner.

“We are hoping for creative entries from people of all ages, and are encouraging everyone to get involved.”

Dr Degan will be joined by fellow judges Dr Guy Bradley Smith, a GP from Exeter and clinical lead for learning disabilities for NEW Devon CCG, and Peter Ferlie, Health and Wellbeing Officer at Exeter City Football Club.

To enter a photo, please send the highest possible resolution of your image to
d-ccg.communications@nhs.net, along with your full name and age. You also need to provide a caption of up to 100 words explaining where your photo was taken, what’s happening in the shot and what inspired you to take it.

If you would like to enter a hand-drawn picture, please send it by post to:
