Motorcyclist seriously injured in A379 crash

A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Teignmouth has been seriously injured after being involved in a collision on the A379 between Kenton and Starcross today.

Police were called shortly before 7.45 this morning (Thursday 24 July) after a male motorcyclist was trapped under the red Mitsubishi Shogun, registered to Bristol.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics after being freed by the fire service, and then taken by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

His injuries are said to be life threatening.

The road was closed between Powderham and Kenton while the serious collisions investigation unit carried out an investigation of the scene, and the road cleared of debris.

The road was re-opened at 2pm.

The motorcyclist was riding a white Honda 125 motorcycle.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 168 of 24 July.
