
Misery continues for rail travellers across Devon
Rail travellers were today told not to attempt to travel west of Taunton after yet more heavy rain.
Meanwhile trains between Exeter St David's and Barnstaple will not be running until at least Deecember 28.
First Great Western issued the following information:

Newton Abbot to Taunton
Trains are unable to operate between Tiverton Parkway Station and Exeter St Davids and between Exeter St David's and Newton Abbot. Therefore, services from Penzance, Plymouth, towards Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington will terminate at Newton Abbot with limited road transport to Tiverton via Exeter St Davids..
Services from London Paddington towards Exeter St Davids and the West of England will terminate at Tiverton with limited road transport to Newton Abbot via Exeter St Davids.
There is limited road transport in operation between Tiverton and Exeter St David's and Newton Abbot , as this is being hampered by flooded roads and only a reduced number of vehicles being available.
The line between Exeter St Davids and Tiverton is expected to remain closed unitil at least 28th December .
Other Service Information:
Services between Par and Newquay are also suspended in both directions with very limited road transport available. The line is expected to be closed for the rest of today.
Services between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple are suspended in both directions, with very limited road transport available. The line is expected to be closed until at least 28th December.
Services between Liskeard and Looe are suspended in both directions with limited road transport available operating between Liskead and Looe only. We are unable to access imntermediate Stations due to road conditions. There is currently no estimate for resumption of services.
Services between Swindon and Bristol Parkway are suspended in both directions. Rail services are diverting on alternative routes and calling at Patchway Stations with road connections to/from Bristol Parkway.
Services between St Erth and St Ives are suspended in both directions. There is no road transport in operation due to the road conditions.
First Great Western, South West Trains and CrossCountry Trains will accept each others tickets on services that are operating in the West Country.
First Great Western advises customers not to attempt to travel West of Taunton in either direction with the current weather conditions.
