Officers investigating an assault at Dawlish station, where a man was head-butted by another man, are today appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 8.30pm on 25 August, there was an altercation on platform one at the station between two men. The victim, who has not yet contacted police, was head-butted by the suspect who then walks away.

A short while later he returns, and kicks and punches the man several times before boarding a train on platform one. Suddenly, the man gets off the trains, jumps across the tracks to platform two and, in an unprovoked manner, punches a member of public who is unconnected to the assault.

He then jumps over the tracks, back to platform one and boards the train.
