Fundraising event for outdoor classroom

A Fundraising Event has been planned for Exeter Forest School Kindergarten, to raise funds for a new outdoor classroom, to enable young children to learn and experience the outdoors.

The event will bring together families across Exeter at Riverside Leisure Centre on Saturday 3rd September from 3pm until 7pm to enjoy a range of games and activities for all ages, including a giant inflatable assault course and forest school activities. Food and drinks will be available throughout the event as well.

Looking towards the evening, attendees will be able to enjoy live music from two excellent local bands - Souled - a fantastic funky 9 piece band and Chicken Slacks.

All proceeds raised will support Exeter Forest School Kindergarten, which is based within Exeter Forest School at Shillingford Organics, just a few miles from Exeter City Centre. The kindergarten recently celebrated its first year anniversary, where attendee numbers have continued to increase each month after more parents saw the benefits of a truly outdoor-based kindergarten.

Chris White, Director at South West Outdoors Group Ltd who run the kindergarten commented: "During the winter months and in bad weather the new classroom will provide a safe, warm environment for children but also allow easy access to the outdoors within a sustainable environment. We have worked hard to build our new kindergarten offering over the last year but we did not anticipate a new outdoor classroom would be required so early on. So, we hope the families of Exeter will come along and enjoy a fun day out / evening with us on Saturday 3rd September! We would like to thank Riverside Leisure Centre in particular for donating the venue to us."

Tickets for the family-friendly event can be purchased in advance by visiting https://www.southwestoutdoorsgroup.co.uk/family-day - tickets are £8 for adults and £2 for under 16's.
