Thanks to its generous donors, the Sir Francis Chichester Trust has 30 fully funded places, worth up to £1,699 each, available to young people from Devon, including Plymouth and Torbay, to attend a life changing 19-day Outward Bound Skills for Life Award this summer.

But applicants will have to hurry as the closing date to apply for summer 2017 is 10th April 2017.

What’s It All About?  The Skills for Life Award is a fantastic opportunity for young people to take control of their summer and achieve something truly inspirational through high adventure and challenge in the great British outdoors.  The Award is designed to help young people realise their full potential and face any new challenges such as sixth form, university or their first job head on with key skills such as confidence and self-belief.

Sir Francis Chichester, born in Devon, inspired our whole nation throughout his adventurous career – from pioneer World War pilot to daring solo round-the-world yachtsman.  He challenged all young people to reach further and aim higher which is why his Trust was founded to provide opportunities for 16-19 year olds from Devon to strive and achieve through the challenging outdoor learning programmes provided by The Outward Bound Trust.

The funding is available to any young resident of Devon, including Plymouth and Torbay, who has had few opportunities of this kind, who perhaps lacks confidence or who would benefit from time away from their current circumstances and who hasn’t previously attended an Outward Bound course.

To be 1 of the lucky 30 young people to embrace this opportunity visit: www.chichestertrust.org and complete the application form.
